Kick-off Workshop

The PCMIP kick-off workshop, held in Dartington Hall, Totnes, UK, 26-28th January 2008, brought together 15 scientists with an interest in the palaeo-carbon cycle. The major outcomes of the meeting were:

  • The identification of key uncertainties in the carbon cycle
  • The definition of key simulations to address major uncertainties
  • An outline of protocols for each experiment, which will now be discussed with the PMIP and C4MIP communities
  • The identification of key data sets to be used for model evaluation. PCMIP will work with the data community to ensure that these data sets are produced in a timely fashion
